Alan Gephardt: "Andrew Johnson" November 16
Alan Gephardt is a nationally recognized historian, author, first-person interpreter and National Park Service ranger at the James A. Garfield National Historic Site. A lifelong student of American and presidential history, he holds a bachelor’s degree from Towson University and a master’s degree from the University of Maryland.
Alan’s November program will feature Andrew Johnson, 17th President of the United States, analyzing Johnson's rise from poverty, his unique status as the only Southern Democrat to remain loyal to the Union during the Civil War, and highly controversial presidency.
